Extracurricular activities, trips and excursions

We place great value on teaching a rigorous academic programme, whilst recognising the importance of offering a wide variety of extracurriculars to engage students outside of lesson time.

Overview of extracurricular activities

We are tremendously proud of various and mostly student-led activities. Currently, students are free to join our

  • Chess club
  • Debate and MUN club
  • Music choir / school band
  • IST sports club

Trips and Excursions

We aim to take every year group on a trip and/or excursion at least once per year. We plan these outings during convenient times in the school year, so that lesson cancellations can be kept to a minimum while also optimising for the weather and available activities. Our current list of destinations include:

  • Visiting Paleis ‘t Loo (day trip)
  • Berlin trip (3 days)
  • Brussels trip (3 days)
  • Holten science trip (2 days)

IST places great value in these opportunities for students to learn outside of the classroom. Every school trip aims to balance on the one hand the strenghtening students’ social bonds and having a lovely time together and on the other hand having an immersive educational experience that helps achieve curricular goals.
