Cambridge Lower Secondary and IGCSE

In Year 7, 8 and 9 our students follow the Cambridge Lower Secondary programme, thereby laying a solid foundation for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) programme in Year 10 and 11.

The subject combination in the Years 7 – 9 curriculum provides a broad and balanced education for our students. Subjects that we offer for our students are English, Dutch, Spanish, Humanities, Mathematics, Science, Visual Arts, Physical Education, and Music. In Years 10 – 11, students work to complete their IGCSE certificates. In these years, sudents are able to choose from an even wider selection of subjects which include English, Dutch, Spanish, Economics, Geography, History, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Music, Visual Arts and Physical Education.

All IGCSE subjects taught at IST Secondary are taught at the extended level. IGCSE students are recognised internationally for their problem solving, investigative, independent and cooperative learning skills.
