Work at IST

Staff appointed to International School Twente are well-qualified professionals committed to international education in general and to IST’s mission and vision in particular. Teaching staff have sound academic qualifications in their area of expertise. All staff members actively subscribe to the educational philosophy of IST and its role in the local and wider community.

IST aims for a diversity of nationalities amongst its staff team and particularly seeks staff with a passion to commit themselves to the development of the school and to working as a team.

All staff should demonstrate a commitment to students’ learning and to the school as a learning and living community. Teachers at IST must hold a valid teaching qualification which has been recognized by DUO (Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs) for the relevant education and/or subjects they teach and are required to regularly maintain their professional development per the requirements of the international curricula the IST teaches. Any teacher or candidate aspiring to teach at IST must have a native or near-native fluency in the English language (minimum C1 level).

In addition, all candidates must provide a valid VOG (Certificate of Conduct, a Dutch government issued clearance after a background check).
